The idea for this work came from my daughter's stories about her feelings and fear when air raid sirens sound. My children live in Ukraine. My daughter takes a shower with her clothes on. She says that if she had to flee from bombings, she wouldn't want to run out of the shower without her clothes on. I live in America. I don't hear the sirens, but I can't tear myself away from the map of air raid sirens in Ukraine, which is open day and night on my computer. Every time the cities of Ukraine on the map flash red, and especially when they flash where my children, relatives and friends live, I feel the scream of the sirens.
